The CURRENT CYCLES concept:

My Dad gave me his old TREK Mountain Bike, which was my first introduction to Mountain Biking. It was in need of some repair and updates to make it rideable.  After a few days of hard work…I was ready to RIDE!  I was HOOKED at that point. After a few months on the TREK, I realized I needed to advance my skill set, and that bike just was not going to do it.  I needed a different bike.  My Dad agreed, only, if I paid for Half of the purchase. Funding a purchase of that capacity was difficult at such a young age.  However, the answer to funding the next step was to build and sell birdhouses over the Internet and door-to-door. After two weeks of sales, the CANNONDALE CUJO, was was my next seat. This bike allowed me to generate a further need to pursue the DOWNHILL RACING aspect of the Sport. More Bird Houses, and a Downhill Racing Bike, took me to the level I am now.

It came to me, after this whole process, that I was really blessed to have such great opportunities to be a part of the Sport of Mountain Biking.  Giving back to the sport became a personal mission of mine.  My next adventure was “CURRENT MISSIONS”.  Introducing other kids to the sport became my main focus, along with racing.  I knew I could offer other kids a little of what I had experienced.  With the community donating Mountain Bikes, a little restoration, and a few lessons, this has opened the door to “give back”, with other kids being introduced to this great sport of Mountain Biking.

…and that is how CURRENT CYCLES was established.  We have a mission to introduce Mountain Biking to as many adults and kids as possible.
